Collection: Polymer Clay Pens
As the name implies, the pens shown here are made from polymer clay. Many are unaware that polymer clay can be baked to achieve a blank that is similar to soapstone in hardness, yet it can be infinitely more beautiful. Designs such as flowers are made much larger and then they are tapered/rolled until they reduce to a useable size for pen making. The reduction process allows a polymer clay artist to work with a much more manageable size piece and then reduce it down while maintaining specific proportions.
I do not make the blanks of this type. I purchase them as raw blanks and then turn, finish, and assemble them into pens. There are multiple extraordinarily skilled polymer clay artists that produce pen blanks for turners.
